Being an excellent time tracker, Time Hunter helps managers assess their employees' productivity, and provides essential information for monitoring project status and client billing. Just as TV cameras in supermarkets provide valuable information to store managers, Time Hunter gives management in today's virtual office a tracking tool that was thought to be lost forever.

Each system with Time Hunter installed builds a log of each user's computer activities, capturing the user ids, the applications that they're running, the documents they're using, and any keystrokes or mouse clicks that they make. Unlike old-fashioned time reporting systems that rely upon the good will and good memory of employees to accurately enter information about what they worked on, Time Hunter gathers the data in the background, without the employees having to spend any time doing data entry, and without them being aware that their computer activities are being recorded. The program's data files are tamper-proof, prohibiting employees or management from distorting the information. Each employee can turn off Time Hunter's data capture program to ensure their personal privacy during non-work-related periods on the PC.

At the end of the workday, these logs are automatically sent to the manager, over the LAN or via e-mail. Time Hunter consolidates the raw data and generates management reports. Data may be extracted by user id, application, document, or date, allowing management to concentrate their attention on areas of concern. Detailed reports tell the manager, in intricate detail, how the computer has been utilized. Summary reports intelligently consolidate and summarize the data in meaningful ways.
